simple math.

I shouldn't let it bother me.it really doesn't matter anyway.but it does bother me¡ all those people re preparing to celebrate a new centure, a new milleun as well. and just ins't IMPORTTANT most of us schedule our lives by the gregorian CALENDAR. our are measured from the birth of christ. the first year of the first centure is 1, or 1 A.D. the last year of that century is 100 YEARS. long.a millennium is 1,000 years long, which is exacty ten centiruies.

since the last year of the first centure is the year 100, the first year of the SECOND century is 101.follow that pattern, century and you'll get my joke the year 2000 is the last year of the twenting century. after all, two thousand means twenty hundres. years means twenty centiruis . the year 2000 is the last, the final, the one that's still here, year of the twentierh century....

I know, I'm getting too INACCURATE but it ins't fair. wile most people will really be enjoying this comming new years celebration, those of us in the know will be yawning. we'll be saying at the party. everyone else will be cheering for the new millenium and we'll be saying, its not until next year.'' I don't agree with the saying, ''ignorance is bliss.'' but this case,perhaps it's TRUE.
